Paris art galleries

If you ever get a chance to visit Paris, as I did this Spring, take a deep breath and venture into the Louvre. The Louvre is considered the world’s greatest art museum, for good reason; it is home to an amazing spectrum of art.
It is somewhat overwhelming, but viewing Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa firsthand is now off my bucket list.

If you love French Impressionism (as I do) the Musée d’Orsay is the place to view it.
Home to the largest collection of artwork by Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin and Van Gogh, the Musée d’Orsay is housed in an old railway station. The collection is mesmerizing.

In both art museums, I will admit, there were times I was frustrated by trying to look at art through lofted cell phones. We have become impulsive about documenting moments in our life. My approach; look at art with your eyes instead of through a lens. Simply enjoy.
